I am

gucha (gussa)!!!!

Says my lil baba!! And when the 6.5 years old lil man is gussa you better ask him "why?"

Here we are, so happily heading for shopping and after a longggggggggggg time look forward to the happy times ahead!!!

And here is baba who started off on a crib session!!
You cann't ignore when he talks like that!! Makes a sullen face, hands crossed across his chest and tears welling in his eyes, looking down and talking and again repeats "I am gucha" (I go awwwwwwww so cute at the same time I can't encourage crib sessions all the time !!)

So I kiss him and hug him and ask him lovingly"Why baba?? why are you gucha baba?"

He replies : "because because when I was in senior Kg and cuckoo was in 4th std, she gave me lot of work and called me a waiter. No, I was in Junior Kg and Cuckoo was in 3rd std she gave me lot of work and called me a waiter."

Before I could burst out laughing, with a very controlled tone I had to tell Baba :" but you are NOT a waiter na baba. So why get upset?"

I kiss baba on his forehead and remind him that we will be playing UNO once we go back home and also having dinner at Indigo - we will order for Chicken lollypop and ice cream. Then he forgets all about the incident.

However, I can't help and laugh out loud about the incident.

Cutie baba!!!

Swimming -- Re-learnt

So the start of summer, we had huge plans (as always)!!!
And as the summer started to fade, I realized we were just setting other priorities over the vacation.

Summer vacation is not fruitful unless you have got one thing enjoyed and learnt, under ur belt.
So all of us have been oggling at a beautiful view of family/ies swimming in the near-by pool and the idea gave birth to action. I decided we gotta atleast get both the kids in the pool for few days (ya the Bigger kid wanted to stay as far away as possible)

Day one
Took Chiku and Sunny to the pool in the evening. Bought them new suits and accessories to get them excited and have fun. They did enjoy everythin about the accessory and nothing about the pool. Both of them were crying and wailing. Esp Chiku, she learnt to swim in the baby pool and refused to come in the bigger pool. Baba jus wudn't let go of me.

Day Two
Realised won't be able to teach both of them at the same time. So, though, took both of them to swim, decided to keep baba in the pool for only 15 mins. He, atleast learnt to kick his legs with loads of yelling. Then teaching chiku was a bit easier.

Day Three
Baba decided he didn't wanted to come for swim.
I was alright. He is small and needs time to get over thefear of water. Undivided attention to Cuckoo and she started to swim on her own about half a distance. That was the motivation for me to take time out to ameke sure we swam every single day (for whatever was left of the vacation).

Day 15th
Baba chose to come and swim for about 10mins and then change his clothes and prefer to sit and watchus swim.
Cuckoo has been doing her rounds in the shallow side and now it was time to move to the deeper side. We both decided to head to the deeper side. Cuckoo was coaxed by some of the gals her age who were swimmin without the float at the deeper end. Finally that day she did few laps from the DEEPER END to the SHALLOW END. Woooooowwwwwwwww!!!!
She saw some gals jumping and swimming 25M stretches. Cuckoo decided to give it a go(with a very lil/tini tiny encouragement from Me). She did with so lil effort. I was in awwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

That day my lil gals act encouraged me to go the entire 25Ms.
I have been reluctant to do 25M, thinking I do not have the stamina, hence i have been doing the horizontal laps, a number of times.

In the beginning, I thought I was teaching her to swim, but in the end, Cuckoo taught me to overcome my own shortcomings and give it a go anyways!!!

Cuckoo, my Rockstar!!!

Different

yet so similar...both these kids.

Sunny is 6 months old. And now he has decided to change his sleeping habits (Sighhhh!!!). If you know me, you know how painful that sigh is.

So now sunny wakes up as early (n i mean really early. IF YOU DON'T STOP THIS SUNNY, WAIT TILL U GROW UP BUDDY???), wants to be hugged and cuddled and wants u to play with him. Oh Jeez. I generally pat him to sleep, but then the poor boy won't sleep.
Just this morning he got up at 3am, played with me a little, but just wudn't stop crying. Somehow I put him back to sleep, n between crying and sleeping it was already 5 am.
I decided to give him his bottle of milk, and happily and with a cute smile dancing on his face he did pooh. After that he would just not let me be. I had to pick him up, soothe him, smile at him, put a bath, gave him a bottle of milk and after about almost an hour, he finally fell asleep. Phew. And then it was just time to get back to daily chores and get ready for work.

CHIKU -- when she was 6 months, would wake up early in the morning too, but I think around 6am, She would just want you to play with her, thats it. After about half n hour she would again fall off to sleep. There were days when we had to shake Chiku so vigorously to wake her up. Sigh!!!

Bond

Chiku was very touchy when I was expecting sunny. Here I was 6 months pregnant and my daughter requesting me to pick her up. Poor kid, she was just 3 years old, we had just celebrated her b'day. I didn't know how big she had grown till I picked her up. Her legs were dwindling on my 'sunny-filled' tummy. We were quite skeptical as to how this child will react to the new sibling. Sibling rivalry was penetrating so strongly out of the clouds.

But its so different now. Today, though Chiku might have tears in her eyes, but if Sunny is crying, she affectionately calls out to him and pacifies him.
Just this morning she was making him laugh and run. Now that he can crawl faster, Chiku was running from one end to another, she was challenging sunny to follow suit. Sunny was making attempts to follow her, but he would be half way through by the time she reaches the other end.
If sunny got stuck, while trying to turn cos of cushions around him, she would hold him and help him to turn, or while he is sleeping she would put cushions all arnd him so as to prevent him from falling.

The fan following is mutual. Sunny is equally smitten by things Chiku does. He watches her smile, watches her closely when she is talking, keeps staring at her when she is dancing or studying or writing or reading or playing with her toys or just lying down, tries to reach her whenever she is moving from one place to another. So smitten that he has picked up her habit of sucking his fingers, chiku sucks 2 fingers from her right hand and sunny sucks just the index finger from his left hand.

I hope they bond as they grow and bond well, become friends for life, like I have my brothers and sister.
