Sometimes when we promise Mummu that we are taking her on the bike, if we then do not take her out,
I do not know if mummu will yell or be coaxed by some other incentive that she might get
Sometimes when I am busy with my laptop,
I do not know if she will ask me to “show photo” followed by “pleash pleash” (read please) or just yell bringing an angry expression on her face and then tears will follow
Sometimes when I am hugging her
I do not know if she would say “huggy huggy” and hug me back or she would turn around and scratch my face cos she has got irritated
Sometimes when I say “gimme muchi”
I do not know if she will say “muchi muchi” and gimme a peck or she would be just stuck to my face like bee to the honey
Sometimes when I say “eat chochi” (eat your food)
I do not know if she will start with “poon poon poon” and eat with a spoon or she will just start eating with both her hands
Sometimes when me and Su are holding hands
I do not know if she will just say “hand hand hand…” and be happy when I hold her hand or be happy when Su holds her hand
Sometimes when I call out to her
I do not know if she will come running to me or look at me and just go back to watching her “gaana”
Sometimes when Su calls up
I do not know if she talk to him and tell him “dadchi, mummy achi, amma achi, papu achi” (implies dad mom beat me, granny beat me, papu beat me…so much for being honest) and wud giggle or she would just say “ No No No”
Sometimes when Mummu see babies
I do not know if she is just gonna say “baby baby baby” and leave the baby alone or just hug and kiss and not leave the baby alone
In all this I do not know
If she is adorably sweet or sweetly stubborn

Sometimes I know...
Sometimes I go to drop Mummu till her school bus and once she is in, I wonder if she is gonna continue to cry till she reaches her school. But I know in the next 5 seconds she will be quiet and probably smile and talk to the kids or the bai.
Sometimes when mummu calls out to me “mummmmmmmmmmyyyyyyy” I know the game has started,
I say “yes chiku”
and then she says “mummy”
and I say “yes chiku”
and she says “mummy”
and I say “Yes Chiku”
and then finally she says “yes chiku” smiles and goes about doing her own work.
Sometimes when I am going about doing my work at home and mummu wants to follow me around, she follows me around but couples that monotonous routine with few songs of her own. She sings “mummy mummy mummy mummy”
and then starts on with another song “mumma mumma mumma mumma mumma mumma” and then with a sweet cooing “mummia mummia mummia mummia mummia mummia”.
And I know her final thread of patience is dropped when she gives the loudest shout of “mmmmmmuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyy”
Sometimes after 3 times of saying potty (each after a gap of 1 minutes) I know she is eventually gonna pee on the sofa or on the carpet but not in the bathroom.
I know she has grown out of the nappy thingy. The minutes she comes back from playschool the nappy has to come off.
I know she has no said timetable for food nor what she wants to eat. I know that she can ask for a bikki (read biscuit) at 9pm in the night or ask for channa(I don’t know what it is called in English) at 10am and sometimes she so promptly says “chochi” that means food at the right time (lunch/dinner).
I know when Su calls out to her to go and do chuchu(pee) in the bathroom, she runs and goes to the bathroom, despite the fact that the lights are not on and that couple of seconds back she was deep in sleep.
And sometimes when I try to do the same thing, I know I would be challenged with a sweet “come come mummy”, it means I have to pick her up and taking her to the loo.
Sometimes when I am engrossed in watching TV, and not paying attention to mummu if she is calling out for me, I know she would come and hug me and gimme a peck.
Sometimes when I sit down to study(ya that is definitely “sometimes”) I know that Mummu is gonna ask me to give a book to her and insist that I read out for her.
The best is I know
when I say “ I love you chiku”
she says “ I lub you chikuuuuuuuuu”
and I say “ No say I love you mummy again”
and she says “ I lublub you mummy again” and she looks up and smiles
