Sensitive

And Sensible...
Cobwebs irritate me!!! I have been eyeing them for quite some time (Ahhmmmm time == months). This weekends task was bringing all those cobwebs down with a bang!!!

So prompt came out the broom and eyeing at the ones reachable to me, I started cleaning them.
Next, came the turn of the ones that were high up on the ceiling. No super woman here, a quick calculation and realised, I would need a chair to help me reach out and clean up. While still in that groove decided not to break the rhythm and asked for help instead.

Thought should ask for help from Sunny who was playing in the kitchen. Cuckoo is more accomodating and ready to help all the time and Sunny on the other hand has to be pleaded, forced, and begged to help most of the times.

Today was an exception. Sunny looking at me staring at the walls asked me if I needed help.

Sunny - Mumma you no reach?
Me  - Yes Baba
Sunny - Do you need a chair?
Me - jaw-dropped-shaking-my-head in affirmative

He was sitting surrounded by his bfast plate and few veggie bags (which I had got out of the fridge and happily had left it there). Whilst he was busy playing with his Favorite set of cars, rolling them up and down and back and forth on the kitchen platform, he did pay attention to whatever I was asking of him. Thats what caused the jaw to drop ya!!!

So he obediently gets up, picks up his plate and pushes the veggie bags away and then stands infront of the dining table for a good 5 mins. On enquiring what was taking him long he asks which chair do you want? I said any would do. He contemplates and then brings me a chair, places near me and goes about playing with his car.
I continue getting rid of the cobbys. I climb up the kitchen platform and go about doing my work.

Turn around to find the boy was no more playing with his cars and was more interested in alignin the chair to wherever I was. Keeping it as accessible to me as possible.

What was sweet was when I was done cleanin and ready to get off the kitchen platform and climbing down on the chair, Sunny just got up and came to hold the chair!
When I looked questioningly at him, he smiled and said "I holding chair, otherwise you fall na Mumma!

How sensitive and sensible!!!

Luv ya mumma!!

Swimming -- Re-learnt

So the start of summer, we had huge plans (as always)!!!
And as the summer started to fade, I realized we were just setting other priorities over the vacation.

Summer vacation is not fruitful unless you have got one thing enjoyed and learnt, under ur belt.
So all of us have been oggling at a beautiful view of family/ies swimming in the near-by pool and the idea gave birth to action. I decided we gotta atleast get both the kids in the pool for few days (ya the Bigger kid wanted to stay as far away as possible)

Day one
Took Chiku and Sunny to the pool in the evening. Bought them new suits and accessories to get them excited and have fun. They did enjoy everythin about the accessory and nothing about the pool. Both of them were crying and wailing. Esp Chiku, she learnt to swim in the baby pool and refused to come in the bigger pool. Baba jus wudn't let go of me.

Day Two
Realised won't be able to teach both of them at the same time. So, though, took both of them to swim, decided to keep baba in the pool for only 15 mins. He, atleast learnt to kick his legs with loads of yelling. Then teaching chiku was a bit easier.

Day Three
Baba decided he didn't wanted to come for swim.
I was alright. He is small and needs time to get over thefear of water. Undivided attention to Cuckoo and she started to swim on her own about half a distance. That was the motivation for me to take time out to ameke sure we swam every single day (for whatever was left of the vacation).

Day 15th
Baba chose to come and swim for about 10mins and then change his clothes and prefer to sit and watchus swim.
Cuckoo has been doing her rounds in the shallow side and now it was time to move to the deeper side. We both decided to head to the deeper side. Cuckoo was coaxed by some of the gals her age who were swimmin without the float at the deeper end. Finally that day she did few laps from the DEEPER END to the SHALLOW END. Woooooowwwwwwwww!!!!
She saw some gals jumping and swimming 25M stretches. Cuckoo decided to give it a go(with a very lil/tini tiny encouragement from Me). She did with so lil effort. I was in awwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

That day my lil gals act encouraged me to go the entire 25Ms.
I have been reluctant to do 25M, thinking I do not have the stamina, hence i have been doing the horizontal laps, a number of times.

In the beginning, I thought I was teaching her to swim, but in the end, Cuckoo taught me to overcome my own shortcomings and give it a go anyways!!!

Cuckoo, my Rockstar!!!

Luv Mumma.
